This seminar will cover what fraud and forensic accounting are, how forensic accounting differs from auditing. It will also explain the Fraud Triangle and developments in the law over the past few years and some ramifications for accountants in public practice or controllership or CFO roles. From this seminar, you will learn some recent trends in everyday life where fraud has changed the way people act and think.

Speaker:  James P. (Jim) Blatchford, BA, MBA, CMA, FCMA, CFE

Jim has more than 35 years of experience in forensic and investigative accounting, litigation support and law enforcement. His forensic and investigative accounting engagements include numerous civil and criminal fraud investigations focusing on corporate, insurance, public market, welfare, real estate, mortgage and telemarketing frauds.

Jim has undertaken assignments for fidelity, bond, business interruption and other insurance claims, including preparing “expert opinion” reports on economic losses. Jim has also provided litigation support, due diligence, internal control and regulatory compliance reviews for corporate, government and First Nation clients.
