A group of 8 CGA-BC Richmond/South Delta Chapter volunteers, Hansa Bhagwan, Wilhelm Lee, Leslie Minovitch, Lisa Skippen, Marianne Thomas, Svetlana Tourkova, Rita Tung and Jackie Zhu took part in the “Relay for Life” at Minoru Park in Richmond BC on Friday, June 11, 2010.  Manning the “luminaries booth”, our volunteers sold luminary candles that were purchased and decorated by the participants in honor of loved ones and friends who have been affected by cancer.   The luminaries were placed around the Minoru Oval and lit in time for the candlelight lap at 10:15 pm.    Others of our volunteer group counted donations at the event, all proceeds going to the Canadian Cancer Society.  This was the first volunteer opportunity for the Richmond/South Delta Chapter and we look forward to more great volunteer experiences.
